AAR Compatible Meter Gauge Container Flat Wagon 17T Axle Load Flatbed Wagon

1. Application

The meter gauge container flat wagon is suitable for 1000mm gauge railway lines in South America or African area, and can load and accommodate international standard 20 foot and 40 foot containers. The flat wagon is equipped with AAR air brake system and couplers, so it could be compatible with customer’s existing American freight wagons.

2. Main structures

The structure of the meter gauge container flat car mainly consists of the vehicle chassis, braking system, container locking device, coupler and buffer system, and bogie.

Chassis

The Chassis is a fully welded steel structure, mainly composed of middle beams, side beams, end beams, sleeper beams, large crossbeams, auxiliary beams, etc. The steel material is Chinese Q345B low alloy high strength profile steel.

Floor

The vehicle chassis adopts Q345B low alloy high-strength profile steel plate, which is currently commonly used by China Railway, with superior performance and meets the loading function of the vehicle.

Container locking device

Eight sets retractable rotating container locks are installed on the vehicle chassis to accommodate two 20’ ISO containers or one 40’ ISO container.

Air brake device

The braking system meets the AAR S401 standard from USA manufacturer Wabtec. It mainly consists of control valves, empty-load proportional valves, pressure maintaining valves, angle cocks, combined dust collectors, hose joints, 4493D-II hand brakes, etc.

Coupler & buffer

The coupler adopts the AAR E-type bottom acting SE60EE coupler, with a contour standard of AAR 10-A. Its material and mechanical properties meet the relevant requirements of AAR. The buffer adopts Chinese MT-3 type buffer, with a buffer capacity of no less than 45KJ, and the hook yoke is made of cast alloy steel.

Bogie

The bogie is a three piece cast steel ride control type bogie, which adopts a control type inclined wedge damping device. The main components include wheelset assembly, bolster assembly, side frame assembly, bearing assembly, bearing adapter, foundation braking device, bearing spring, wedge vibration reduction, lower side bearing, and other components. The performance of the bogie meets the evaluation requirements of GB/T5599, and the strength design meets the requirements of TB/T1335.
