1. Application

C70 general open wagon is the mostly common freight wagons on Chinese standard railway. It is widely used to transport containers, packed goods, equipment, coal, ore, and etc. The pay load is 70 tons and it could be adapt to manual unload and mechanized unloading. After over 15 years services on Chinese railway, C70 open wagon has shown proven perfect performance.


2. Main structures

The C70 open wagon is mainly composed of wagon body, coupler buffer device, brake device and bogies

  • Wagon body

The wagon body is an all-steel welded structure, mainly composed of chassis, side walls, end walls, doors and other components.The main material of the car body is high-strength atmospheric corrosion-resistant steel with a yield strength of 450MPa.

  • Air brake device

Railway air brake device’s main pipe pressure complies with 500kPa and 600kPa. It mainly consists of a 120 type control valve, an integral spinning sealed brake cylinder with a diameter of 356mm, an ST2-250 type bidirectional slack adjuster, and a KZW-A type empty and load vehicle automatic adjustment device.

  • Hand brake machine

It adopts Chinese NSW hand brake machine, whose hand wheel diameter 400mm, brake ratio is 27. The mounting height could be adjust according to customer requirements.

  • Coupler & buffer

Adopt lower acting No. 17 coupler , the supporting coupler yoke and ST-2 buffer.

  • Bogie

The bogie adopts K6 type cast steel three piece wagon bogie with a 23.5t axle load. The bolster and side frame are made of B-grade steel with a wide guide frame structure for the side. There is a cross support device between the two side frames. The bolster spring is of two-level rigidity.
