1. Application

C64 General Goods Open Wagon is used to transport general goods like coal, ore, machinery equipment, wood, packed goods, and containers on standard gauge railroad. It is common used railway wagon with 61 ton load, which could be grouped together with railway dumper and other heavy-load railway wagons.


2. Main structures

The C64 open wagon is composed of wagon body, bogies, brake system, coupler buffers and etc.

  • Wagon body

The wagon body is made of all steel welded structure, consisting of chassis, side walls, end walls, doors and other components. The main steel and plates are made of 09CuPTiRE weather resistant steel, and some small beams and supports are made of Q235-A.

  • Air brake device

Railway air brake device’s main pipe pressure complies with 500kPa and 600kPa. It mainly consists of a 120 type control valve, an integral spinning sealed brake cylinder with a diameter of 356mm, an ST2-250 type bidirectional slack adjuster, and a KZW-A type empty and load vehicle automatic adjustment device.

  • Hand brake machine

It adopts Chinese NSW hand brake machine, whose hand wheel diameter 400mm, brake ratio is 27. The mounting height could be adjust according to customer requirements.

  • Coupler & buffer

It adopts 13B-type coupler, matched yoke, MT-3 type buffer, and alloy steel yoke pin.

  • Bogie

It adopts K2 type 3 piece casting bogie.
The material of bolster and side frame is B-grade cast steel. The main friction plate of the composite wedge is made of polymer composite material, and the wedge body is made of bainitic ductile iron. The material of the side frame column wear plate is 45 steel, and the sliding groove wear plate is T10. The bogie adopts two-stage stiffness springs. Using a lower center disk plate with a diameter of φ 355mm, the lower center disk is equipped with a conductive center plate wear disc. It installs 197726 compact bearings, RD2 axles, and LM wear type tread HDZB cast steel, HDSA rolled steel wheels. The basic braking device adopts an austenitic ductile iron lining and a combined braking beam. The braking beam frame is connected to the brake shoe support with steel rivets.
